My name is Barbara Bertch. I have a Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, a Certified National Counselor, and have a Certificate for Spiritual Direction from the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas.
Among the therapies I employ are Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR); all are seen through a biblical worldview lens.
Individualizing treatment according to client’s needs and goals, I see pre-adolescents, teens, college students, adults (young through end of life). EMDR is used with children, teens and adults. I am trained as a Prepare/Enrich facilitator and am part of the Twogether in Texas program.
For more information about these programs see prepare-enrich.com and twogetherintexas.com.
EMDR Therapy
As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I use EMDR Therapy. Research has proven this therapy to be especially effective in dealing with different types of trauma. Clients are guided in reprocessing emotional memories, which allows them to live life in the manner that they desire instead of being hindered by the distressing event or events.
